Famous Kitchen (famouskitchen.sg)~ A hidden gem at Sembawang. A sister restaurant of Famous Treasure at Capitol Piazza. Famous Kitchen specialises in delectable Nanyang cuisine like Salted Egg Yolk Prawn. They are also recommended by the 2019 edition of MICHELIN Guide Singapore! I have heard a lot of great reviews about Famous Kitchen. However, I always didn’t get to go there to try their dishes. I am glad that they provide islandwide delivery service.
I love to enjoy the feast in the comforts of my home. The food were piping hot when they arrived. We love the Fish Head Curry, Charcoal Beancurd with Enoki Mushroom and Yam Paste.
Food
Despite the food was delivered from Semabwang (which is about 20 minutes drive away), it was still piping hot when it arrived.
咖哩鱼头 – Traditional Fish Head Curry
The gravy is very rich, flavourful with a fiery spicy kick. The fish head was fresh and the generous servings of vegetables was cooked soft to the way I love.
金针菇黑炭豆腐 Charcoal Beancurd w/ Enoki Mushroom
My favourite dish. It is silky Soft inside with crisp on the outside. The inside is so soft till it almost just melt in my mouth. Would prefer the enoki mushroom to be more crispy.
姜葱鹿肉 Venison with Ginger & Scallion
The vension meat is tender and the ginger scallion makes it very fragrant too. I love to drizzle the gravy on to my rice too.
金沙香草虾球 Salted Egg Yolk Prawn with Italian Sauce
Interesting marriage of italian sauce and salted egg. Unfortunately, the prawns did not travelled very well. Afterall, it is quite a long drive. Would prefer the prawn to be more crispy and the salted egg flavour to be more prominent.
福果金瓜芋泥 Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts & Pumpkin
It is very smooth, not sticky and not overly sweet for me. Love that they add pumpkin and gingko nuts. They give the yam paste another layer of texture and flavour.
