Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora ~ Cat Cora – Renowned celebrity chef and the first female Iron Chef in Singapore! I have heard many great reviews of the Ocean restaurant. I have also yet to visit the popular S.E.A. Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa. Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora is located inside the S.E.A. Aquarium where you can admire the gorgeous view of the Open Ocean habitat. Its like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Savouring the delicious food and the grand “Under The Sea” view!
Do take note that the entrance to the Ocean Restaurant is actually via Resorts World Sentosa West Zone Carpark B1M. Diners can park near their Equarius Hotel.
Ambience
Excellent Ambience! Magnificent Ocean View! Love the blue color theme which totally complements the ocean view. The decorations they use make me feel christmas is here! They also have a huge mirror that reflects the awesome marine view. This helps to let the customers facing away from the aquarium to also have enjoy great view.
Service
We called to make a reservation. They were proactive to check whether we are celebrating any special occasion. We understand that it is on a first-come-first serve basis if you want to get a seat by the aquarium. We were a bit late. Unfortunately, we had to sit a distance away. Fortunately, we are not totally out of luck. After some of the customers left, they managed to put us by the aquarium. Totally Delighted!~ They also give a complimentary dessert for the special occasion.
Food
Bread and Amuse-bouche ~ Complimentary
The bread was warm but look a bit dry and doesn’t look very appetising. The taste is ok though. The Amuse-bouche were so pleasing to the eyes and delicious!
We ordered the Entice Menu.
Ocean – Harmony of Sea Life with Ginger Essence/ Salsa Vert/ Watermelon Sorbet/ Charred Aioli~
A beautiful dish! Love the way they place the sashimi and oyster in the beautiful shell. The sashimi and oyster were very fresh. Love the popping orange color from the roe! The watermelon sorbet is also pretty and very refreshing. Awesome Presentation and Delicious!
Sous Vide Scottish Salmon – Salmon Gravlax/ Chilled Cauliflower Milk/ Horseradish Creme/ Roe
A stunning dish that is so beautifully presented that we just can’t bear eating it. Chilled cauliflower milk. Never try before So interesting! It complements well with the raw salmon.
Crisp Brick Duck Foie Gras – Tamarind-Balsamic Reduction/ Ginger Candy/ Cocoa Nib/ Puffed Buckwheat
A luxuriously guilty dish! Love this dish! There are many layers of textures to the dish. From the the puffed Buckwheat to the crispy coat to Savoury, buttery rich and silky Foie Gras! Delicious!
Lobster Milk – Lobster ‘Wanton’/ Coriander/ Szechuan Pepper
A Asian inspired dish! I always love Wanton! Sinking my teeth through the skin to reveal the fresh and juicy lobster filling. The wanton look like it is lazing in the pool of milk. Yum Yum.
New Zealand Sustainable Fresh Fish – Ratte Mash/ Crustacean Aioli/ Caviar Vinaigrette
Haha The Ratte Potato Mash resembles so much to a scallop. A light moist fresh fish.
Braised-Seared Beef Short Rib/ Charred Grilled Wagyu Primecuts – Puff Barley & Oatmeal/ Carrot-Kaffir Puree
Wow! This is my favourite dish! The Beef is so tender, flavourful and moist. Hit the sweet spot of medium rare. Melt into my mouth. The flavours all running around inside. Thumbs Up!
Chocolate Ends – Greek Yoghurt/ Grand Marnier-Mango ‘Sphere’/ Cocoa Nib Tuile/ Tarragon Gelato
The rich chocolate together with the refreshing greek yoghurt and mango is lovely! A sweet ending to a lovely meal.
~Conclusion~
Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora ~ An amazing fine dining restaurant for family with kids. Not often you can find fine-dining restaurant that are suitable for kids. Magnificent “Under the Sea” view. Delicious Dishes with great service. It is a bit strange that the entrance to the Ocean Restaurant is actually via Resorts World Sentosa West Zone Carpark B1M. They also provide a complimentary parking ticket.
