Staycation done right — when the kids don’t want to leave and neither do we.
完美宅度假:孩子玩到不想走,大人也乐不思蜀。

Not every hotel is built for families with young kids. So when we checked into Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore for a 3 days 2 nights stay with our three boys, we were curious to see how it would deliver. Spoiler — the boys didn’t want to leave.
The Family Room at Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore comes with a queen bed and a single bed — genuinely spacious and perfect for families with 1 to 2 young kids. For us with 3 boys, we opted for the connecting room option which made our stay so much better.
The interconnecting room gave us two rooms, two bathrooms, two showers and two bathtubs — each boy got their own bathtub time, no arguments, no waiting. Over our 3 days 2 nights stay the boys kept running between both rooms and honestly loved having their own space. For bigger families or families with older kids, this setup makes so much sense.
Travelling with 3 kids means space is everything — and the connecting room at Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore gave us just that, and more.
For first night, we ordered room service — so convenient, especially with three young kids. No need to head out, no need to get everyone dressed up. Food delivered straight to the room and everyone was happy.

One thing we didn’t expect — Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore also provides kids’ welcome amenities upon check-in — and the best part is that guests get to bring them home. The boys were absolutely delighted and it made for such a warm and thoughtful welcome. Guests can also actually borrow toys from the hotel. The collection is really good and the boys were kept busy throughout the entire stay. The table soccer game and water guns at the pool were the boys’ absolute favourites. They also have car sets, robots and fishing toys that are perfect for bathtub time — a really thoughtful touch for families with young kids.

Breakfast is served at Princess Terrace, the hotel’s in-house restaurant. The international breakfast buffet spread is wide, varied and really delicious — a great way to start the day. We never left the table hungry and the boys went back for seconds every morning.
The facilities at Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore are also worth mentioning. There is a landscaped outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym, launderette and even a golf putting green — something for everyone really. Every morning before the boys woke up, I headed down to the gym for a quick workout. I also got to enjoy the jacuzzi while hubby brought the kids to the pool. It was the perfect balance for both adults and kids.
Location wise, Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore is really well situated. Just a 5-minute walk to Havelock MRT station (TE16), getting around Singapore is very easy from here. Great World is nearby with a great playground and food options — we especially enjoyed Putien which is just a short walk away. For families who want to explore beyond the hotel, this location makes it very convenient.

For second night, we also tried the Live BBQ Seafood and Penang Delights Buffet at Princess Terrace — and it has always been our family favourite. From freshly grilled scallops, chicken wings and crayfish at the live BBQ station to authentic Penang laksa, prawn noodles, Durian Bang Chang Kueh and Kueh Pie Tee — every dish is prepared with care and captures that true Penang flavour. We keep coming back for this buffet every year and it never disappoints. Read our full review of the Princess Terrace Penang Buffet here.

After a full day with the kids, Connections Lounge at Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore was the perfect place to unwind. Once the boys were asleep, I slipped downstairs to the lounge — cosy, vibrant and such a good vibe. Live band DayPupz was playing Mandarin and Cantonese hits and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. We had a food platter with 4 drinks (cocktails and wine) — all for $68+++ which was honestly really good value for money. A convenient and relaxing way to end the night without having to go anywhere.
Connections Lounge offers live music every Wednesday to Friday. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, Jammin’ Tunes plays easy jazz, timeless classics, English pop and Top 40 hits from 7.30PM. On Fridays, DayPupz takes the stage with Mandarin and Cantonese hits from 8.15PM. Happy Hour runs daily from 4PM to 8PM — great for a pre-dinner drink or a quiet wind-down after a long day.

One thing we really appreciated was the Late check-out option at 4PM. No rushing to pack the night before, no stressful morning scramble — we took our time, squeezed in a long afternoon nap and left feeling relaxed and well rested. A small but really thoughtful perk for families with young kid

Overall, our 3 days 2 nights family staycation at Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore was a really enjoyable experience. From the spacious family room and connecting room option, kids welcome amenities to bring home, borrowed toys that kept the boys busy, great facilities, delicious food at Princess Terrace and a cosy lounge to end the night — it ticked every box for us as a family. The location is a bonus too — just a 5-minute walk to Havelock MRT station with Great World City nearby for extra dining and activity options.
